It made its appearance again this year and it was absolutely worn and adored. The bucket bag is a combination of form and function, casual and chic, comfort and elegance and once again this year, it brings a hippie-boho-’70s mood in the contemporary minimal vision.
With Monsur Gavriel having a top place in the wish lists around the world (and mine) instagram and pinterest are full of the label’s perfect item. Personally, I adore the colour palette and the fact that I can choose the enterior colour too. I would also recommend bucket bags from Chloé, Proenza Schouler, Sophie Hulme, Phillip Lim (the one with the cutout leather is amazing) and Michael Kors, for a minimal chic look, but it always depends on your style and everyday routine. Moreover, it seems that every brand has released its own version of the bucket bag; I’m not sure though that it makes the decision easier or more difficult!
If I hadn’t bought the Michael Kors selma satchel in black and if I didn’t already have a bucket bag, I would definitely go for a black Monsur Gavriel with a black, ballerina or blu interior.
In today’s post, I am gonna show you my piece, which is one of my favourites; it is vintage and it belonged to my grandmother. I wanted to style the brown smoked almond leather with a total grey outfit in order to make it stand out even more (!) and I also put my white stansmiths on.
It is spacious enough for a cell phone, a wallet, lipsticks and cardholders, even a small bottle of water, or a magazine or a camera can fit in, but IT IS A BUCKET so be patient when you search for that wallet!
